A 2007 forum turned into a modern SaaS, without dropping a user.
NGRHOOK was selling a real product on infrastructure from another era. Licenses were tracked in a phpBB forum, payments arrived as PayPal notes, activations were SQL edits by hand. We rebuilt the whole stack, migrated every account with zero downtime, and put the business on a proper billing engine.
Before
The product worked. The plumbing did not. Customers registered on a 2007 forum. Payments came in as PayPal transfers a human had to reconcile. New license keys were issued by editing rows in a database. Support, distribution, and community all ran in the same forum thread. Revenue existed but so did a full working week of manual admin.
- License management done via manual database edits.
- PayPal payments reconciled by hand, one at a time.
- Customer accounts locked inside a 2007 phpBB forum.
- No self-serve for activations, resets, or refunds.
- Partner and reseller sales tracked in a spreadsheet.
What we built
We rebuilt NGRHOOK as a real SaaS. Stripe handles billing and subscriptions. A first-party license API replaces the manual key handout. A Discord bot ties community access to license state in real time. Partners get a white-label dashboard with their own branding and payout ledger. Every legacy account moved to the new system without a single user losing access.
- Stripe subscriptions with automated invoicing, dunning, and refunds.
- First-party license API: activations, resets, transfers all self-serve.
- Discord integration syncing roles to license state in real time.
- White-label partner program with per-partner branding and payouts.
- Zero-downtime migration of every legacy account and license.
- Machine-bound sessions and release hardening on the client binary.
Outcome
The product now runs itself. Payments are automated, licenses are self-serve, community access follows subscription state without a human in the loop. Annual revenue crossed eighty thousand euro on the new stack and the team spends their week shipping features instead of processing PayPal receipts.
- €80k+ annual revenue on the new platform.
- 100% of payments automated end to end.
- 0 seconds of downtime during migration.
- Weekly admin load reduced from ~30h to under 2h.
- White-label partners generating a new revenue channel from month one.
- Discord community tied automatically to active licenses.
“We had a product people paid for and a stack held together with tape. TukeWIN moved every last user off the forum without breaking a single license.”
